Apple Launches iPhone 16 Pro And iPhone 16 Pro Max In India

On Monday, Apple officially launched its latest Pro line-up, the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max, during the ‘It’s Glowtime’ launch event at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California.

Apple Launches iPhone 16 Pro And iPhone 16 Pro Max In India

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models feature larger OLED Super Retina XDR displays—6.3 inches for the Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max—with Always-On and ProMotion technologies, a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 2,000 nits peak brightness, and Apple’s latest Ceramic Shield protection.

Apple claims the new Pro models feature “the thinnest borders on any Apple product” and use strong, lightweight titanium design.

The new A18 Pro chip, which Apple calls its “fastest chipset yet” and promises better speed and efficiency, powers both models.

Compared to its predecessor, the A17 Pro, this chip offers a 15% boost in speed and a 20% improvement in GPU capabilities thanks to its construction on second-generation 3nm technology, which uses smaller, quicker transistors.

It also has a 16-core Neural Engine for on-device processing of Apple Intelligence features, which is due as a free update in the coming months.

On the camera front, both iPhone 16 Pro models feature an upgraded 48MP Fusion camera system with a second-generation quad-pixel sensor and 4K 120 FPS video recording in Dolby Vision.

Further, a second 48MP ultra-wide camera and a 5x 12MP tetra prism telephoto camera are now available on both Pro models.

The front of the phone also has a 12MP selfie camera that supports 4K video recording and filming in Apple ProRes Log.

Moving further, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models will now have a Camera Control button.

A force sensor and a touch sensor were used in the construction of this button to enable a variety of movements, including taking pictures, making films, and more.

Apple plans to support a two-stage shutter in Camera Control for focus and exposure-locking with a software update later this year.

Powered by the A18 Pro chipset, Apple says that the iPhone 16 Pro models have the “best iPhone battery life ever” with up to 29 hours (iPhone 16 Pro) / 33 hours (iPhone 16 Pro Max) of video playback.

These models have a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery with up to 25W and a 30W adapter or higher, as well as USB-C fast charging.

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models will be available in four color variants: Black Titanium, Natural Titanium, White Titanium, and Desert Titanium.

They will have storage capacities of 128GB (iPhone 16 Pro only), 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.

September 13 is when preorders will open, and September 20 is when the actual release date is scheduled.

The iPhone 16 Pro starts at Rs. 1,19,900, which is much cheaper than the iPhone 15 Pro’s launch price (Rs 1,34,900). Further, the 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB models of the iPhone 16 Pro have been priced at Rs. 1,29,900, Rs. 1,49,900, and Rs. 1,69,900, respectively.

Additionally, the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which is available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage capacities, is priced at Rs. 1,44,900, Rs. 1,64,900, Rs. 1,84,900, respectively, which is cheaper than the iPhone 15 Pro Max model.
